Meningitis ACWY Vaccination

Meningitis ACWY vaccine protects against four strains (A, C, W, and Y) of the meningococcal bacteria that can cause meningitis and septicemia - both serious, potentially life-threatening infections. The bacteria spread through close respiratory and throat secretions, making crowded conditions particularly risky.

This vaccine is mandatory for all pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah, and you must have a certificate dated within 3 years but at least 10 days before arrival. It's also recommended for travel to the 'meningitis belt' of sub-Saharan Africa, particularly during the dry season (December to June). Single dose provides protection for up to 5 years.
